ABOUT MERCER TREE SERVICES
After leaving the military in 2018, I began working as a cell phone tower technician, climbing towers across the Midwest to install and troubleshoot 3G, 4G, and 5G networks. The job was challenging and technical, but the constant travel made me start thinking about a new career path that would keep me closer to home.
That’s when I discovered August Hunicke’s (MonkeyBeaver) videos on YouTube and became fascinated with arboriculture. The mix of technical skill, physical challenge, and problem-solving immediately drew me in.
I started my tree career with Asplundh, where I spent about a year clearing OG&E utility lines and learning the fundamentals of safe tree work around power infrastructure. Wanting to move into residential tree care, I joined Arbor Masters to gain more experience with pruning, removals, and customer service.
In 2021, I decided to take everything I’d learned and start my own company—building a business focused on safety, integrity, and quality workmanship in every job.
